Skin Care Products Versus Soap

Tuesday, 6 May 2008

For the past couple of weeks we have looked at skin care products in respect to both healthy skin care and facial skin care routines. In this latest blog article I wanted to address a few reasons why washing with skin care products is better than simply using soap, as many people still seem to do.

It is easy to be cynical about a multi-million dollar industry that deals in skin care products, but cynicism is just another word for doubt; and there's only one way to remove doubt - do your own investigation and prove the issue one way or another to yourself. MCS Wellbeing have a few different ranges of skin care products; whether it be herbal aloe vera products, or a refreshing range designed to rejuvenate skin affected by the rigours of daily life, these beautiful products will enhance your skin and bring out your natural beauty.

This is in opposition to some of the side effects of using soap. According to some research there are some disadvantages to using soap, which aren't present with skin care products. Soap works by making oil water soluble which enables it to be easily wiped away from the skin's surface. Recently it has been discovered that soap also affects the surface protein which leads to irritation and potentially a more rough texture. And, as many adverts are quick to tell us, using soap leaves the skin with a raised acidic pH, as well as causing some minor swelling; as a result of continued use there is a chance that the skin will end up with increased bacteria levels, as well as possible abrasions caused by the swelling.

Skin care products will not remove the skin's natural moisturising factors or affect the protective barrier; neither of which can be said for soap. Please feel free to have a look round the products on our web site for more information on our skin care products.
